Why do you want to Start a Business?

Welcome to the first post of Start and Grow your Business, being the first blog post I thought it apt to ask the question 'Why do you want to Start a Business'? What is your number one priority in doing so?

Are you starting a business because you want more income than you currently get from your job, you want more spare time or more time with your family, you want to have financial freedom and security for the future? or is it you want to retire earlier than the predicted 70/75 years of age we're heading for or maybe you just want to leave a legacy for your family?

Whatever your reasons for starting a business I believe you need to think about your why? Why are you doing it. This 'why' will be your driver throughout your business life. A great Idea is to write down your 'why' and your goals for yourself and then write a mission statement or purpose about what it means to you. This only needs to be a page long and 2-3 paragraphs and you can print this off and put it on your wall to read regularly.

Remember though to make sure you are doing something you really love to do, as in doing this will make all the work you do on your business not feel like work at all!

I hope you have found this first post useful.
